The Otaku Party Has a Primary!?!
Posted Image
I've never seen this anime before but it says primary so I'm using it.

For the first time in a very long time a Party is having a primary for who will be their nominee for President. That Party is the Otaku Party, the candidates are Brick Drakan with new running mate Undefined States (Wet Lands), who is seeking to run for re-election, and Speaker Hunteiria Drakan who is throwing her hat into the ring once again with her running mate Libertarian Washington who just recently returned from a long stay period of absence. The Otaku Party, current Chancellor being Lewis and Daniel, is holding a mini-debate to decide who their candidate will be, after which party members can PM the Chancellor with their vote. The Chancellor will then tally them and report the findings.

This is an intense primary as a President, Brick, looking for re-election after winning against then incumbent Obito of the Republican Party, while choosing a good running mate, from the Death to Sanity Party, which could appeal to that party's base and get some of their votes, but seeing that it is the Death to Sanity Party that would just make too much sense. However his Presidency has unfortunately been plagued with resignations which may be viewed as slowing down his progress on what he has done. However he was still able to pull off a decent term for the most part despite that, and has things going for him.

On the other side you have Speaker Hunt who has been a legend as Speaker and has ran many times in the past, having lost all of them. However now she returns trying to have our first female president. She has tons of experience as Speaker and working in the Senate with having had done other work as well. Now this time she returns with Libertarian Washington who has just returned which could hurt him, but he is very well known my the older community here, he also stands on a solid background. Not only that but also being a member of the Republican Party, who along with the Otaku Party make up the two largest and strongest parties in the region, could help the ticket for trying to split the Republican vote. Getting more Republican vote while taking them away from the only other contender who has appeared so far outside of the Otaku Party, Regionia.

Who will win the Primary? Who knows but I am sure it will be a member of the Otaku Party. Who will win the General Election, that waits to be seen as the Otaku Party wants to hold on to the Office of President be it with the current or a new.

The Economy May Be Fixed?!
Posted Image

Over recent months the economy has been in poor shape, pitiful by some standards, as what few businesses there are, are for the most part inactive as people don't seem to care as money has become wide spread and people just don't seem to care. Secretary of the Treasury Free States has been trying to tackle this problem his entire term with his ideas ranging from a super tax to a complete restart of it. He has been given more power to try and fix the problem but so far it remains. Many others are worried about it as well, with another idea being having more life simulation and roleplay being the key fix on it.

Come in Lewis and Daniel, renowned legislator, business owner, and politician, who saw two main fixes to the economy - counting for inflation and adding in an actual tax on people's wealth. He then worked about to write the Economic Reconstruction Act which would allow the Department of the Treasury to account for inflation and deflation, will get rid of the pay-per-post (where citizens get money for every post they make), adds in a flat tax allowing for tax breaks, and reforms some basic treasury policy. Later after suggestion from Regionia, Lewis and Daniel has authored a possible amendment to it to create upkeep costs on the forum. This is the first big piece of legislation that has worked to try and fix the economy and has been meet with lots of praise from the community.

We will have to see where this legislation goes, how it does, and if we can fix the economy through it and perhaps many more pieces of legislation. However North Republic Industries still is going to maintain its proposal of willing to invest serious money into new or old companies that are willing to be active and have a good proposal for a split of their profits, they might even go out to seek out these deals.

May's Sumo Tournament Almost Here!
Posted Image

The May Sumo Tournament which is held in Tokyo is almost upon us, starting on the 10th of his month and continuing on till the 24th of the month. So far all three Yokozuna are expected to be in the tournament. It is looking to be an interesting tournament after what happened in the March Sumo Torunament. Eyes will be on Terunofuji, after having had an excellent record last that last tournament and with it went on to compete to try and win the tournament, people will be looking to see how well he does this time around. Also people will be watching the Yokozuna Harumafuji, who didn't have a great tournament last time but had a great match against Hakuho right at the end of it all, and Hakuho, who will be hoping to get another win this tournament. There will also likely be people watching Kakuryu, the other Yokozuna who due to an injury had to step out of the March tournament, at the beginning of it.

Update I got is that Kakuryu has once again pulled out because of the same injury. This is the first time a Yokozuna has pulled out in two tournaments in a row since I think 2003. Since Kakuryu has never won a tournament pressure will be on him in July to either win or perform very well.

Many other wrestlers will watched as they prepare to try and win the the tournament. They will all be asking the questions, 'Will Hakuho win again?', 'Will Terunofuji win the tournament or beat Hakuho again?' and many more questions as well. To watch Sumo I recommend going to Jason's All-Sumo channel on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjEHJ_fQxC3wgXcIazGWt3Q

The Drakan Overtake?!
Posted Image

Recently the Superiority Order was passed by the Senate with a majority of the Senators voting for it the bill, however when it landed on the President's desk it was vetoed, despite being a Drakan himself. This seems to have caused the Drakans to begin discussing Brick Drakan's future relation with the family. However with the Senate having the needed majority it appears that the veto will be overturned. However despite many people supporting the bill, who may or may not be named Drakan, there are still some critics of it. Most active would probably be Senator Plotus.

Following the passage of the Drakan Superiority Order Senator Plotus proposed a House Disbandment Act which would effectively disband any and all Houses in the Region, replacing them with one club. Senator Plotus said this was because of the amount of power and divide the Houses were causing in the region. However it was met with much criticism for both the bill and him. However Senator Plotus kept pushing and after arguments Plotus decided to resign on May 3rd after calling the region ruled by a "golden circle of members." He named Regiona his replacement and announced that he would leave the region on May 4th, the 4th didn't seem to be with him, despite many pleas for him to stay and some probably saying good bye.

This brings up many different things, such as will the Drakans really be taking over? Will Houses start to play a bigger role? Will we moving towards nobility? Monarchy? Are you still reading? Well time will tell us, maybe.

Azumanga Daioh

Azumanga Daioh -- Called a classic, and with that I pretty much decided to watch it not to mention it is slice of life, and I do love me some slice of life. It is about a group of girls and their adventure through high school mixed in with lots of jokes, trips, all that. Each one in the group has their own personality but they all seem to be friends and have fun together.

The story is slice of life, there isn't really any goal or plot, or anything like that even other slice of life anime has. The story is about the girls and what goes on with them. Can't get more slice of life than that I suppose. It can get boring I suppose but at the same time it is entertaining the comedy and all. It works for it and all in all a decent story.

The Characters are very good, each of them have their own personalities and all of them grow, if a little, over the course of the anime. We get to know them well but they also seem to stay as they are in a way as well, which seems to harken to life. However other than our main characters, a handful of others, and a few teachers we pretty much don't see or learn of any other characters save only a few. Perhaps this is a draw from high school on how we have our group of friends and a few others and seem to drown everyone else out. Though the characters are for the most part enjoyable and I found myself liking them for the most part. They are good.

The Music is good, the opening is good but a little weird and seems to fit, I didn't always watch it though. The Ending was good, I liked it. As for all the other music, I thought that it was good for the most part but I can't remember it being extraordinary.
The Voice Acting, having watched the English dub was good. All the voices were good, and for the most part I liked it.

The Animation is good but also not. It can get lazy and doesn't always look amazing. The Style is alright, though the characters never seem to loose their quality most of the time. It is old as it was made in 2002 I think. However I think that is also bearable and in its own way good.

Overall I liked the anime, though it took me forever to finish it. I watched about half of it, put it down, and only recently was able to finished it. This was after having it on my to watch list for a long time. However I liked it in the end and it turned out to be an enjoyable anime. The ending was, was something. It did touch a cord.

Now and Then, Here and There

Ima, Soko ni Iru Boku as it's also known.

The Story is about Shuu who is just a normal overactive boy who wants to do his best and sticks to his values and ideals. Comes in Lala-Ru whom he sees up on a smoke stack and decides to join. All of a sudden they are transported to a different time or planet where war and death are everywhere. People lack water and are willing to kill for it in some places. Now he must save Lala-ru while also trying to keep to his values.

The Story is good, it deals with war, values, in a way slavery, revenge, loyalty, power, and many other issues and themes. It shows us this world and how Shuu and everyone else has to deal and live with it. How they have to make it through however they can, finding ways to survive and also how to deal with it. It is an interesting story that I think tries to tell us a message and I think after watching it we get that message.

The Characters are good, not all are likeable, or good. But they seem to be made well enough for the anime. They have conflicts, pain, and also change. The development it good. There are some good characters here and they each seem to mean something or have something. I thought that they were well done.

The Music was very good, I liked both the opening and the ending but didn't listen to the opening too much. The music was well done and did its part to do good to the story.
The Voice Acting, having watched the English dub was good, I don't really have any complaints and thought that it was well done.

The Animation is older, and it shows but at the same time I liked it for that and thought that it also fit the anime well. I think that it holds up and has that certain quality about it that just works. I do like that 90s anime style.

Overall I thought it to be a good anime. Though the ending was bittersweet and I didn't like too it well but it did make me cry. But all in all it was a good anime that I liked. Some have called it art and I see why they do. I think that some of you out there will enjoy this anime and so I think that some of you should give it a try.
