Elections and What Color is Purple?
Hello and thanks for reading, today we will be finding out what color is purple. This is the most important question I know, posed once by my friend... ... ... Oh yeah, we will also be talking about the elections.
So the election are over! Surprised I know right?!
To start off let us talk about the Presidential election, Hunt won 50% of the vote, Brick and Regionia both won 19.2%, and then M-C won 11.5%. Overall The Messenger got pretty close - 3% off for Hunt, 3.8% off for Brick, 2.2% off for Reg., and 4.5% off for M-C. That makes it an average of 3.375% off. That I think is pretty acceptable. Good job to The Messenger! In the first Run-off Brick was gaining a lead on Regionia however Regionia decided to back off and conceded, making the first run-off not needed. Thus Brick and Hunt battled it out in a new run-off where Hunt quickly was able to gain a big lead over Brick, however the battle drudged out and lasted for 3 days -- the final score being 76.5% to 23.5%.
In the end Hunt stood alone with her squire Libertarian Washington and looked out over the battle field and saw that it was stained with the blood of her enemies. Or was that just the punch TNR spilled? Either way there was wet stuff, or had it dried by then? Well what ever it was Hunt looked over it and saw that all was good, or at least good enough for her, or was it. Actually were not quite sure, we just know that Hunt looked over something, and perhaps thought something... maybe.
Next in the Delegate corner we had Britarvia who was able to gain a lead with 43.5% of the vote, followed by Free States who had 30.4% and then Kastros who had 21.7% and then M-C who was last but still managed to get 4.3% of the vote. With such no clear winner was named and a run-off was needed to settle this bloody business (at least we think it was bloody). With that Britarvia and Free States headed to the run-off where things turned magical. Britarvia was able to call upon his Cactus spirit and was able to win with an amazing 70.6% while Free States was able to call upon something we hope and was able to get 29.4% of the vote, actually losing some of his earlier votes.
That was when Britarvia manifested into a dancing cactus and went around hugging people! 29 law suits were filled but none got to the court, it is suspected that the Cacti Mafia intercepted the paper work and burned it, then threatened that no one come out and tell what happened... ---- please excuse me for a moment, I just heard a knock on my door. I wonder who it could be?
Finally in the Senate corner. Many people ran, it was bloody as they all wanted to cover themselves in this red stuff - presumed blood or cool-aid... or paint - we think that this red stuff makes people have magical abilities but this is still unknown. There were casualties with DaFreakyAmish, M-C, Britarvia, and Northern Timpetotia were all beaten. In a run-off between Randomly Named States and Regionia, Random was beaten. The victors were Free States, Kastros, and Regionia.
Slow, Slow, Slow --- a Court Case?
Recently DaFreaky Sports Confederation hired the Galley-Law Company to sue the Department of the Treasury for taking so much time in the application process that it caused unneeded stress and also cased them to lose money that they could have made over the May Sumo Tournament. They have sued for $6000 because of this.
This raises a great question and that time it has taken for the government to approve of applications, now this is not the Hunt Administration as she recently just came into office, but really the previous administration however it is being targeted at the government as a whole, as it is still the same government just new leadership.
Of late many applications are taking a lot of time to approve, from business applications to citizen applications and then it is also taking a lot of time to put them into play once they are approved. This would case many problems, chief among them would be people giving up, stress, and financial burdens that are caused.
This court case (Galley-Law v. Department of the Treasury) is trying to hit the nail on the head and help to make better what has happened. However it is unknown what the outcome will be. Also this seems to be the first court case in a long time. Putting the court to do more than confirm election and solve Presidential succession.
Sumo, Sumo, Sumo
Terunofuji
The May Sumo Tournament is over! It finished on Sunday May 24th, and boy was it something. Overall it was a crazy tournament that was a delight to watch. Yokuzuna (highest rank) Hakuho who has been breaking records and has said to be in a field all to himself lost and did not win the tournament, instead he lost on the two finial days and left with an 11-4 record the first time he has had more than 2 losses since March 2014 and the first time he has had more than 4 since May 2012. Though this tournament was not a run away like some others it was a huge field with the possibility to have a huge play-off for the tournament championship.
In the end Terunofuji was the winner with a record of 12-3 also gaining the fighting spirit prize, marking having won the prize three tournaments in a row. Terunofuji who is currently ranked as a Sekiwake (third highest rank) will most likely gain a promotion to Ozeki (second highest rank) after his win. Terunofuji was also the runner-up to last tournament coming shy of winning against Hakuho then. However in this tournament Terunofuji did not beat a Yokuzuna (highest rank) he lost against Hakuho and didn't have to fight against Harumafuji because they are in the same stable house and also didn't have to fight against Kakuru who pulled out this tournament because of the same injury that he got last tournament that also caused him to pull out. That is two hard guys that he didn't have to go up against, allowing him an easier time this tournament. However next tournament as of right now he will have to go up against Kakuru, but he is still able to avoid going up against all three Yokuzuna in a tournament.
Sadanoumi was able to pull through in the end and get his winning record at 8-7. However he was able to pull through and win against Terunofuji and also Yokuzuna Harumafuji. Since Sadanoumi is only ranked at Maegashira #3 his win against Harumafuji got him his first Kinboshi (gold star) which is a raise that lasts forever as well. Sadanoumi had a great start to his tournament winning his first 4 matches, that would have made it easy for him to get just 4 more in 11 days. However things turned against him as he lost his next 5 after that. That was followed by 2 wins, 2 loses, and then 2 wins. Also this tournament he had a lot he had a lot of close calls and perhaps some unfortunate losses. Also unfortunately was that Sadanoumi didn't get the Outstanding Performance prize despite beating the tournament winner, but this may be because of he was only able to just barely get his winning record and wasn't able to get in double digit wins. Still Sadanoumi got his winning record which will put him up at a higher rank next tournament, however how much higher is still unknown - perhaps Maegashira #1 or even Komusubi (4th highest rank) both of these would be the highest rank that Sadanoumi has ever achieved. We won't know until June 29th.
Harumafuji one of the other Yokuzuna didn't have the best tournament that a Yokuzuna can have but did do well, he did beat Hakuho, and got an 11-4 record but gave away 3 kinboshi (gold stars). He did have a shot for the big play off but since Terunofuji didn't lose on the final two days it didn't happen. However Harumafuji winning against Hakuho secured the tournament win for his stable mate Terunofuji. Ozeki (second highest rank) Kisenosato also had a great tournament also achieving an 11-4 record and he also beat Hakuho. Ozeki Goeido had a good tournament at 8-6-1 but pulled out on the final day because of an injury - it is unclear if he will pull out in July. However Ozeki Kotoshogiku didn't have a great tournament getting only a 6-9 record. This means that next tournament he must get at least 8 wins or he will be demoted. However if after getting demoted he can get at least 10 wins that tournament he will become an Ozeki again.
Endo, ranked Maegashira #9, came away with a 6-9 record. That is after he sustained a serious leg injury last tournament, where he had to pull out in the middle of the tournament. It was recommended, I believe, that he under go surgery and then heal up but it would take 18 months I think was the estimate - that would cause him to move down a couple divisions and then when he came back he would have to fight his way back up, which is what a fellow wrestler did himself. However Endo stuck it out this tournament and despite losing the first 6 matches - he won the 7th and then lost 2 more followed by 3 wins and 1 more lose then 2 more wins. He did well with his injury in the end and will go down in rank but he will be staying in the division. He now has some time to rest up his leg, and hopefully it might be better so that he can have a great tournament in July.
The Economy!
The Economy is starting to pick back up! Liberty Radio has started, Liberty News has started - which involved the help and contribution of many different people, along with MMS Networks getting going again after that short hiatus. Then we have a brand new company here as well - DaFreaky Sports Confederation.
DaFreaky Sports Confederation is right now has two main features - betting on Real life Major League Baseball and the All Allied Sumo League which is kind of like fantasy sumo. Betting on MLB is simple enough, there are odds you put money down, you win or you lose based on how the teams do. While Sumo is a bit more difficult - I guessed you say. In the Sumo you make a stable house, then you make wrestlers, after enough there are enough wrestlers a tournament will start where businesses and people can either sponsor the whole tournament or individual matches. When wrestlers win matches they have the chance of winning money if there were any sponsors on that match and what ever wrestler wins the whole tournament gets a big prize and the runner up also gets a good prize. There are big rumors that North Republic Industries will be sponsoring and putting lots of money into the tournament - translating to lots of prizes and big prizes for winning wrestlers.
North Republic Industry has also hinted at more ventures. From trying to get old companies back in the game and also trying to create a new survey and consulting company as well. Not to mention that North Republic Industries has also suggested that a Commerce Guild be created to better help businesses. This is all while other businesses are working to improve the economy as well. However North Republic Industries CEO Lewis and Daniel is starting to fill up his plate and he doesn't know how much more he wants on it.

Rec
Rec --- A short little anime coming in at only 9 episodes and one special. Aired in 2006 (hard to believe that's almost 10 years ago!)
Rec is about Fumihiko Matsumaru who is just an average business man, and Aka Onda a up and coming voice actor. The story is about their relationship and their jobs as they come together and must find themselves in a way, their new life, and how to cope with a new person.
The story is good, it is interesting and very slice of life, dealing with romance, drama, and comedy and is very down to earth. It was entertaining and overall a decent story. However it is still short. There is always room for improvement and perhaps given more time they could have done more. However then you can always come back and say that the story might change. etc.
The characters are good, however we only really focus on the two main characters and then glace at the others once in a while. However the main characters are developed well, they seem so human and their own persons. They have their strengths and weaknesses. They seem to go through the same issues that any one else would. They are some solid characters and are very well done.
the Art is decent, it looks older in a way. However I think that it fits the anime too. What more is there to say?
The Music wasn't great but it wasn't terrible either. Frankly I don't remember much of it, kind of. The Voice acting was good.
Overall for a short little series like this, I think it does well. It was enjoyable and entertaining. I liked it, and perhaps you would too.
