November Sumo Tournament!!!
Yokozuna Harumafuji
The
November Sumo Tournament is at an end, and it was interesting as
always. Finally with all three Yokozuna back with the four Ozeki it
proved to be interesting with all these high ranked guys ready to go.
Though how things would play out or how it would go provided to be
interesting. Also I believe that it marks 10 years now since a Japanese
wrestler hasn't won the tournament. Also the Chairman of the Sumo
Association died during the tournament. Now let's just jump right into
talking about the individual rikishi (wrestlers)
Yokozuna
Harumafuji - On just the second day of the tournament Harumafuji lost to
Osunaarashi (M1) and many of his fans began to worry since Harumafuji
has never gone on to win the tournament when he losses in the first
week. However Harumafuji went on to win the next twelve days in a row.
In an amazing match between then undefeated Hakuho and Harumafuji,
Harumafuji was able to perform great sumo and get the win thus tying the
two Yokozuna and providing Harumafuji with the great opportunity to
win. The next day he won over the other Yokozuna Kakuryu, who won last
tournament. However Harumafuji lost on the last day which could have
caused a playoff but luckily for him Hakuho also lost, thus Harumafuji
won the tournament his 7th victory and the first time he's won in two
years. Harumafuji provided some great sumo in this year when he's had
trouble with injury especially his elbow. However in closing Harumafuji
won the tournament 13-2, a very good record. Also note that Harumafuji
took the previous two tournaments off due to injury.
Yokozuna
Hakuho - For the first twelve days it seemed like Hakuho was back and
ready to win again, and he won twelve straight days. People began to
think that he would again win the Tournament with a perfect record.
However Harumafuji won against him on the 13th day. However things
didn't brighten up for Hakuho when he lost on the 14th day to Ozeki
Terunofuji and then he lost again on the last day to fellow Yokozuna
Kakuryu. Amazingly losing three days in a row. Hakuho ended up 12-3,
still an amazing record though and runner up. Hakuho also displayed some
interesting sumo, one match acting like a matador and played a cat
trick as it is called. Perhaps he was just playing around and showing
his versatility.
Yokozuna Kakuryu - Such a lack luster
tournament for Kakuryu just after he won the previous tournament. It
seemed like he was out shown by his fellow Yokozuna. He lost on day one
to Yoshikaze, and things never really turned up for him too much. He did
win against Hakuho which insured Harumafuji's victory. However Kakuryu
only went 9-6 definitely not Yokozuna standards. However Harumafuji has
gone 9-6 before as a Yokozuna. However it is still disappointing to see
the Yokozuna with a low record, not to mention again that he won the
previous tournament. I heard one say that this may be Kakuryu an up and
down Yokozuna.
Ozeki Kisenosato - He got the best record from
any of his fellow Ozeki with a 10-5 record. Kisenosato did for a good
part stay up for the race for the tournament, but again failed to do so.
However he did come away with a double digit win and had the best
record out of the Ozeki. He also won against Harumafuji on the final
day. Maybe 2016 will see Kisenosato winning.
Ozeki Kotoshogiku -
This was his home town tournament, and did the fans love him. For the
first five days he went without a loss and perhaps people started
talking about him actually winning, though he lost on day 6 he went on
for the next two to win. People talked about how he was in top forum,
perhaps could win and was doing great. However the rest of the
tournament was not as kind to him when he went 4 straight losses,
followed by a win. However it was then that he had to pull out due to
injury. Luckily he walked away after securing a winning record, and
finished 8-6-1. Hopefully 2016 we see an on fire Kotoshogiku and perhaps
see him win a tournament.
Ozeki Terunofuji - After getting
injured in the closing days of last tournament Terunofuji decided to
come to this tournament and not drop out. Things didn't go amazingly for
him either in the following days having an up and down tournament and
for a good part of it seeming to stay at x-x. However in the closing
days Terunofuji did win against Kakuryu and Hakuho. In winning against
Hakuho he helped to give his stablemate Yokozuna Harumafuji the same
gift that Harumafuji had given him several tournaments back, helping him
secure the win. So Terunofuji was able with an injury to finish 9-6, an
alright record. Hopefully he will rest and come back in 2016 ready to
go at top form.
Ozeki Goeido - He was on probation, meaning that
if he got a losing record he would be demoted from Ozeki. Like
Terunofuji he had an up and down record. At some points it seemed like
he would he would get a losing record and at other times he seemed safe.
He did win against two of his fellow Ozeki and the Yokozuna Kakuryu.
However on the final day Goeido was just 7-7, going up against his big
rival Sekiwake Tochiozan, and he won! Goeido secured his winning record
on the last day, much like how Kotoshogiku did not too long ago. Perhaps
Goeido with this will see that he needs to do Ozeki sumo 15 days of the
tournament not just 8 or 9.
Sekiwake Myogiryu - Really just had
a terrible tournament, going the final 10 days without a single win and
finishing with a 2-13 record. He will see himself down the ranking and
probably somewhere at say Maegashira 3 or so.
Komusubi Yoshikaze
- Had a good tournament, though only going 8-7. He seemed like he was
going to have an another amazing tournament when on the first two days
he took down Yokozuna Kakuryu and Ozeki Kisenosato. Though he finished
off with 1 win over a Yokozuna and 2 wins over Ozeki. He also got a
special prize, the Technique - the most sought after one. With this
Yoshikaze will definitely be going up to Sekiwake in January, and
hopefully he can begin a push for Ozeki - where he will need around 33
wins over 3 consecutive tournaments. I hope that Yoshikaze can keep it
up and perhaps we will see him as an Ozeki sometime in 2016.
Komusubi
Tochinoshin - Unfortunately for Tochinoshin he didn't have a great
tournament and only managed to get 7-8 wins, not that big of a losing
record though so perhaps he will only see him down at say Maegashira 1
or so, which isn't that big of a fall. Though he probably will fall.
Let's hope that next tournament he can do better.
Maegashira #4
Ikioi - Another amazing tournament from Ikioi, with a great record of
12-3, meaning double digit wins. Though he wasn't as much in the hunt
for the tournament, he was able to do amazing work and get a great
record, and for the second tournament in a row got the fighting spirit
prize. Ikioi is doing very well and we will probably see him up at
Komusubi in January. He's been a Komusubi once before but only for one
tournament. Let's hope that Ikioi can keep up his great sumo in 2016.
Maegashira
#4 Endo - It seems like Endo won't be the rikishi that everyone thought
that he would be. Getting a terrible record of 4-11, he will be seeing
him back down around Maegashira 8, maybe lower. He could bounce back
quite well but we will have to see.
Maegashira #5 Sadanoumi - Oh
Sadanoumi, getting another losing record unfortunately at 5-10 with
double digit losses. Oh the pain, he will probably be finding himself
around Maegashira 8 or so come January. I hope that 2016 proves to be a
great year for Sadanoumi and that we can find him back up at higher
ranks.
Maegashira #7 Kaisei - The Brazilian just for FS. He did
well enough but had his moments where he just couldn't do it. Though he
did end the tournament with a good 9-6. He will probably find himself up
around Maegashira 3 or so.
Maegashira #10 Shohozan - Had a
great tournament and people even began to think that he had a chance at
winning the tournament, though unlikely the chance was there. He could
have been involved in a play off, but just like the other leaders
Yokozuna Harumafuji and Hakuho they all lost on the final day, giving
the win to Harumafuji. But if Shohozan hadn't lost there would have been
a play off. Though he still did very well getting 12-3 record with
double digit wins and got the fighting spirit prize. Well done for him
and he will probably be finding himself up around Maegashira 5 or so
come January.
So that wraps up the November Basho, it was a good
one - though the final day was probably a bit disappointing since
everyone on the leader board lost and there was no playoff. Still though
it proved to be a great tournament. In 2016 we will be looking for
perhaps a Japanese rikishi to win a tournament and break the 10 year
curse on Japan. Perhaps see a new Ozeki, and maybe more.

Washington's favorite drink along with tea. I wonder if Jack Daniel's
would be good with tea? Let's ask LW. Anyways if you can, get some Jack
Daniel's and then drink it, and have fun.
-Please drink responsibly and don't drink and drive.
State Senate Elections Start!!!
I honestly don't know what to put here.
Well
the State Senate election is just starting up, after Secretary of the
Interior Lewis and Daniel thought that he had no part to play in the
election when he actually did. However things are now well underway and
now the Secretary doesn't have anything to with election, as its all in
State hands from here on out.
In the West the election seems to
be coming down to Undefined Wet Land States of the Conservative Party
and Tristannia of the International Communist Party. Since the West is a
big Communist State and the President Pletamia has requested that no
other Communist run, it seems like Tristannia will be elected and
maintain the 1 Communist in the Senate. In the South though things are
heating up in a way. Libertarian Washington, from the Otaku Party, is
coming again to take back his senate seat from Regionia, of the
Conservative Party, who is fighting to maintain it. Though many in and
out of the state have already show massive support to Libertarian
Washington, one person said "I endorse LW, for what's its worth. He's
apart of the OP, a good friend, and a good senator." So far it seems
like Libertarian Washington will win in a landslide, which would open up
his existing seat - perhaps appointing a member of the OP and giving
the OP the lead in the Coalition. In New England though things are
gearing up for a competitive race against Incumbent Hunteiria of the
Otaku Party and Speaker and Pepe Drakan of the new Alliance Party
(though he will be running as an Independent because the AP only has
him). However no clear winner has come forward and probably won't till
election day.

The Alliance Party Comes Back
The
Alliance Party, a left wing party that died off several months ago
after only living for a few months itself, has returned. Brought back by
the same Pepe Drakan on November 24, 2015. With its return the
International Communist Party has in its convention debated on if they
should approve of its existence, as perhaps it is the only other party
that would put itself near the left. However other than that so far the
the Party has seen no new members, and by law and tradition the party is
not officially recognized as a party, just like the Potato Party. It is
though unclear as to if the Alliance Party will take off, historically
left wing parties don't last long - even if they have a huge boom in
membership. This contrasts to Center and Right wing parties that tend to
last much longer and are much more willing to work together. Now this
could be disproven but it would take time, and lots of it. However if
the Alliance Party can gain membership and perhaps have a coalition with
the Communists then the left could provide, if anything a small
opposition to the Otaku Party and the Conservative Party and their
working coalition.

Department of the Interior Active as Ever
The
Department of the Interior headed by Lewis and Daniel has been seeing
tons of activity and work. Though Lewis and Daniel recently tried to
resign, though he decided against it, it has been as active as ever.
Under Secretary Lewis and Daniel's leadership 13 new emoticons have been
added, the Hall of Culture and Cupcakes has been updated and got new
pictures, a lot of terms now have descriptions for the first time, the
first newspaper run by the government was launched and saw massive
support, a poetry contest, and a recruitment contest. So much has been
done and is being done thanks to Lewis and Daniel, including using his
budget. The Secretary said in an interview with The Messenger that
"There is still much to do, its only the start. I hope to have the
region behind me when moving forward."
We hope that the Interior continues their great work for the region.

Chocotto Sister
Gearing up for the Holiday season we have Chocotto Sister!
The
Story is about Haruma Kawagoe who has always wanted a little sister,
but unfortunately didn't get one. Till one day for Christmas Santa comes
and delivers him a little sister, Choco. Now he goes about living with
his new little sister.
The Story is alight to good. This is
mainly a slice of life anime, and for that it does very well, and the
relationship between Choco and Haruma is well done. However the biggest
downfall is in romance, it should have gone farther in it, but it is
what it is. Other than that it proves to be a nice slice of life anime.
The
Characters are good. While they are not the best, nor my favorite, they
have their own unique charm to them and they are well done enough. True
they could have been improve a good amount, but I still found myself
liking them all, and for good reason.
The art is slightly older,
as it aired in the mid 2000s. But I thought that it was good enough,
and I didn't really have a big problem with it. Of course it could have
done better, but I think that it did well enough for the show.
The
music was eh. There is one key song that they keep playing and is apart
of the anime and is the ending as well. For the beginning it is well
enough, but soon it started to ware on me. Both the opening and ending
weren't amazing, and I mainly skipped both of them. Though I admit the
ending is better than the opening.
The voice acting, I watching
the sub, was good enough - I thought that all of the characters were
voiced well and I had not problems.
Overall I liked this anime,
it had a lot of enjoyment for me, it was good! Though somethings aren't
the best I think that together it provides to be a good anime, though it
does have a lot of fan service, sometimes unneeded. It has some flaws,
but I think that it is a good anime. My big problem with the romance,
seems to be patched a bit with the manga that I haven't read. Anyways it
was a good anime, and I enjoyed it.
Gangsta.
A different anime, name gangsta.
The
story is about gangs, special people, and more in a city. Where Worick
and Nick have their company solving problems and are out for hire.
The
Story is alright, it sets itself up for something really good, but
really falls flat in the end. The world building in this anime, was
alright - it could have been much better and it could have divulged the
rules the bind the special people. I feel like it falls flat of what it
could have been. That said this is a weird anime, as in its very
different from what I normally watch or know of.
The Characters are alright as well. Could have been better, but could have been worse.
The art is good, I think that it suits the anime well enough.
The
music is alright. The opening gets old fast, and is weird. The ending
wasn't special. Really the music isn't anything special.
The voice acting was good, watching the sub.
The ending was disappointing.
Overall
I spoke little about it, because I really couldn't bring myself to type
more. While it is interesting in the beginning and different ultimately
is squanders this and falls flat of what could have been a pretty good
anime. I am sure that some people will like it and will find much more
enjoyment out of it than I. However I think that it just falls flat and
is disappointing.
Code Geass: Akito the Exiled 1
This review can pretty much apply to the second movie as well.
The
Story is set in the Code Geass world, at sometime in the timeline - I'm
not sure. It is about the Europeans and their war with the Holy
Britannian Empire, and surviving and stuff. It focuses again on Elevens
and the Europeans, while also giving us insight into parts of the
Empire.
The Story is eh, I mean interesting to a point but at
first seemingly completely irrelevant to the original series. At one
point I got mixed up and thought that the Europeans where actually
Birtannians and spent an entire battle wondering why the Empire was
fighting itself. The story though picks up more in the second movie, but
I feel like it never gets anywhere special, nor holds the same charm of
the original series. Also because it seems to be set well before the
end of the original series, we get few answers.
The Characters
are alright. They have there moments, but most other characters just
fade well into the background - and you tend to forget about them. They
could do better with those and they could also improve upon the main
characters as well.
The animation is superb, super updated from the original series. It is very well done, and almost too much at points.
The
Music is good. I noticed in the battle they seem to play jazz and
before you know it when the battle is at its climax you notice what
seems like a trumpet or so playing full blast and seems to over take and
become forefront in the battle. I can't figure out if I like this or
not. But other than that the music is alright, I had no problems with
it.
The voice acting was good watching the sub. No problems, well besides being accustomed to watching the dub for Code Geass.
Overall
these two movies fall short of the original series. They fail to
captivate me like the original did. The best part of it though is the
boobs, oh the boobs. Best part, by far - oh so good. Anyways the
enjoyment of it for me was held to a point. Perhaps watching the other
movies in this line will help to better develop everything and make it
worth the watch. But as of right now I just don't feel like its worth
it.
