A New Senate!
After an Election, we are met by a new Senate. Which then had several changes to it once three of it's members took another job in the exectuive. Free States moved after being elected Delegate, Conserlan moved after becoming Secretary of the Treasury, and CPSU moved after becoming Secretary of the Interior again. All that was left was Lewis and Daniel and Cashew. However do not fret, they chose replacements! In respective order here they are, Western Timpetotia, Kevin Washington, and Hunteria D. Now back to a full Senate they moved forward, with such grace and awesomeness.
There first order of business was to elect a Speaker, they nominated Lewis and Daniel for the office. Then one by one they all showed confidence and their vote in him. Helping him to become the Speaker of the Senate. This is Lewis and Daniel's first time as Speaker after having served in many other positions in government and after a failed run for Speaker a while back.
The Senate is already getting to work on some hard issues, having a good handful of new bills to debate. The most notible amoung them are The Tax Act, which would be the first official tax on people's income and property. Written by Lewis and Daniel, where once new taxes were shuned, now seem to be a way to help the economy. Then we also have the Peace Petition, an olive branch that once passed will be sent to the United Commonwealth to try and help mend relations with them. Then finailly the Senate has been taking on a massive project to revise the Constitution through amendments. They have already started on Article I and are making good progress.
Let's hope for a productive term in the Senate. Kanpai
A New Cabinet and Court!
Well after some elections, and boy were they some elections. We now have a new government. Let me now present them, as President we have Mytzonia Senju as his Vice President we have Obito Uchiha, Secretary of the Interiro CPSU, Secretary of Treasury Conserlan, and Attorney General Queen Jeny. Once again the post of Undersecretary of Defense was deemed "not needed" by the government. What will happen? It's anyones guess. We also have our very first, First Lady, Hunteria.
As Delegate we have Free States, and in the courts we have Crescellia as Chief Justice, returning after a life time away, and tons more knowledge gained. We also have Kevo staying on and Wet Lands becoming a new Justice.
So this will be our government. It seemed like it's a good squad of people, ready and eager to make it and help TAR the best that they can. Let's wish them all luck in their offices. Kampai!

School of Otaku Studies
the School of Otaku Studies, located on the University of the Republics grounds.
Lewis and Daniel, a Professor of Law, degree holder, Director of the Law Program, and a bit more. Recently built a new building on the UR grounds, the School of Otaku Studies. Desined to help people increase their knowledge of anime and more. Having many degrees that people can take and learn. While it does need to sand out the edges, it does seem like it might be a popular school that people might be attending.
Also in the news, UR Dean Mytzonia recently announced his retiring from the office and then President Mytzonia named former Dean Lewis and Daniel as new the new Dean of UR. Congratulation.
Some Great Anime News!!!!
That's right we have some great anime news for all of you excited Otaku out there! I hope you will listen, or read in this case, or listen... picture, or hear, my voice coming to you through this writing and into your ear... got it? Alright good. Now moving on, we have some great news that I think several, or perhaps many of us will find awesome and with joy, unless you've already heard in which case you'd be hearing again.
First up, perhaps you all remember me talking about how Mushishi was getting a 40 minute special in January, well as you might know that's out. I haven't watched it yet, because I am waiting for the dub. However something even better is happening! Mushishi is getting a second season! Oh, Yeah! I just watched a trailer on the second season and it looked pretty awesome. The season will start airing on April 5th this year! Now I'm not sure if it will include the same dub cast, I can only hope, but we will have to wait and see on that one. Now I did go a bit further than Season 1 in the Manga, so I think that they would continue with that. It's looking good, let's hope that it will live up to the first season and with any luck it will surpass it.
Next is there is a Sword Art Online Season 2 coming soon! As you may know, or perhaps you don't there was a special episode of SWO on December 31st which I haven't seen, it seems like a little filler, but it might be good. It might actually contain some major plot point. I don't know. Now I do know that SWO 2 will be airing in July. But I don't know the cast, plot, or anything. From the look of it so far it seems like Kirito will still be in and that we will be getting some new characters. I don't have much more on this, but I hope that it will be just as awesome as the First season was.
Other news includes Space Battleship Yamato 2199 will be getting a movie sequel and will be coming out in October it seems. Soul Eater will be getting a spin off and well that seems like it for now. There seem to be a lot of good series coming out this spring so we will see where everything goes and what happens. I will read the latest issue of Otakuusa magazine to see what's going on, people in the UK can also read NEO magazine. I look through it when I'm at Barnes and Nobles. And if you have any requests or anything please contact me.

This is a remade title, the original is from the 70s. I had heard about the general title of this several times before, hear and there but I had never watched it or anything. Then one day I was reading a news letter from Otakuusa about what several people thought the best anime of 2013 was, one person chose this remake. I read it and was interested in it, he talked about how it was a great remake of the classic and how he wished it was able to make it in the states more. It untested me, and so I decided that I would watch an episode and I was amazed.
The Story is great, amazing. It starts with Earth has encountered alien life the Garmillias or Gamilon. Earth has achieved some space flight, they have been able to colonize Mars and move about the solar system and they lived in peace but everything changed when the Garmillians attacked. They were able to push humanity back to mars but we were able to win and push them back, then they set up a base on Pluto and started to attack us with planet bombs, a meteor sized rock that is shot with a special weapon and then sent to earth to crash into us and bomb us. Because of countless bombs many have die, and humanity now is forced to live underground in order to survive. Earth's crust is now red and barren, no water or green life found. Humanity has 1 year to live, it is the year 2199. However there is still hope as humanity is building one ship, the Yamato, to find another alien life to seek their aid in resorting earth to the way it was. That is the basic set up and stuff. It is a really interesting and good story line and is able to develop.
The characters are pretty good, while some characters don't develop as much as others you still have a bit of connection with them, but the main characters are developed pretty good, we learn a bit more about them and see them changing and grow over this long journey. However the development could have been stronger in some parts, overall though it was good.
The Music was well done, I liked both the opening and the ending as well as the general background music for the anime. Though the only song I really remember off the top of me is the opening, so rememorability isn't high. I watched it in sub, I don't think that it is out dubbed or will be for sometime. It was a good sub, and the Japanese voice cast was pretty well done, I didn't have any complaints for it and the voices seemed to match the character.
The Animation was well done, very nice and beautiful and I didn't have any complaints about it. It seemed to fit well and it looked good.
The ending, well it made me tear up a little, both from happiness and sorrow, but it was hard to cry went they immediately followed a sad scene by a happy one. But the ending overall was good, little to no complaints here, however they are making a movie squeal so that's good.
Overall it was a very good anime, I'm glad that I watched it. The enjoyment is there, it's really enjoyable.
Log Horizon
Log Horizon --- I originally saw this anime when I was going my Fantasy Anime League and I decided that I wouldn't have it on my list because it sounded like a SAO copy at the time, so I held off. However as time went on and it neared the end of it's airing I decided to give it a go.
The Story starts off with Shiroe waking up in a strange land or rather different then where he once was. He soon realizes that the world looks like Elder Tale, a MMORPG that he has played for a long time, he soon finds out that he is indeed right, when Elder Tale released their latest expansion it dragged 30,000 Japanese players who were online into the game. They are now in Elder Tale without knowing why they are here, how to get back, what to do, or anything. It sets off with Shiroe, a master strategist who's class is enchanter and sub-class is scribe, he soon goes about to try and get a sense of everything.
The story is really good, it has those epic moments where you fell the importance of what the characters are doing and you feel their weight and power, which is always a cool moment. It goes really well as it keeps you into the story and keeps your attension. The story develops well and moves at a good pace, I can't really remember when I felt it going too slow or too fast. While not everything is resolved or developed to the peak, it is going to be having a second season so we can look forward to the story continuing on. There are also some romantic interests that I would love to see further developed.
The characters are pretty good as well, they each seem unique and special, especially the main characters. But this isn't one of those shows that just develops it's main guys, no it goes on to develop a lot of minor characters to the point where you either don't care that they are minor characters or forget that they are. So that's really good.
The Music. For me I wasn't a big fan of the opening, it didn't seem like it fit with the anime. As time went on it did get better for me, but I think I still skipped it most of the time. The Ending though was good and I would usually watch it. The background music and the rest of it seemed pretty good. Looking back on Youtube of the main theme, it was pretty good. I can't say it is the most rememberable, but it fit well. The subbed voice acting was very well done, I thought that all of the characters voices fit and was done well.
The animation was done well, and I really don't have many or any complaints about it.
The ending, well it kind of left you guessing and left you. But then it went right to saying that there would be a second season! So that's great! I very much look forward to watching it.
Overall it was a great anime, where I once thought that it would merely be a play off of SAO and subpar turned into something much much better. I now see that it isn't those things I thought it was when I hadn't watched it. So I urge you not to think that it will be just like SAO or not as good, because you might very well be suprised.
