A New Government in Town!
I couldn't find anything else, trust me I looked for a while
With
a new government in town, well actually they've been here awhile so
more like with a new government in power it marks the end of a term and
the start of a new one. Free States and his running mate Libertarian
Washington won but before they moved in a couple government officials
gave one last address to the People this included Crescellia, who had to
drop out of the race because of real life issues, who talked about his
term in office and gave it that last huzzah and Lewis and Daniel who
talked about what he had done while he was the Undersecretary of
Defense. Not too long after Free States took office and got to work. One
of our sources said that while Free States was cleaning out the
Presidential mansion he found lots of things that others had left
behind, like a secret dungeon with screams and cries coming from it, a
stash of hentai, rope and a candle, some gum underneath one of the
chairs, pants that had been hidden, and a whole lot more like his old
gun that he hid in the English Dictionary. It isn't exactly known what
Free States did with all of the things he found and we might never find
out.
Soon after that Free States released his appointments to the
Cabinet which included older faces like Trook and Andune who are now
the Secretary of the Interior and Treasure, respectfully, and newer
faces like Emrys Mercer who will be taking over the military. Then not
too long ago he released his nominations for Attorney General and the
Supreme Court Justices to the Senate, with included Mytzonia, who still
has to take law classes before he can assume the office, Imperium,
Conserlan, and New Lafayette, respectfully.
The Senate also saw
some new senators in the elections with Western Timpetotia, Bacilli, and
Britarvia all coming back to the Senate after time away and
Aurumaquaria replacing Andune and getting his first chance in the region
to serve office. With new senators coming in that also means that
speaker elections must also come to fruition, this time with Hunteiria,
Queen Rebecca and Lewis and Daniel all running. The race was tight
however after Hunteiria and Queen Rebecca tied 4 to 4 Lewis and Daniel
broke the tie by changing his vote from himself to Hunteiria who will
once again be our Speaker.
Hopefully this coming term will be a good one but as many people like to say only time will tell.

Budget Passes By Small Margin!
We took this picture of Andune after he heard about it all
Recently
Secretary of the Treasury Andune proposed a budget for the month of
January to the Senate where debate on it went on for sometime on a
variety of issues regarding the budget until it was moved to the voting
stage. However the budget saw very little support from the Senate with
only 4 Senators voting for it, 2 against and 2 abstained from voting;
meaning that the budget only passed by 2 votes and a very slim margin,
perhaps the smallest margin a budget has passed on in over 6 months. The
Senators voting against and abstaining did so for a variety of reasons
such as cutting the salaries of senators who had no say in if they
wanted their salary cut yet saying that they did, little transparency
and no receipt from the Department of Treasury on how they exactly spend
$25,000 while other departments who had published a receipt and had the
ability to spend more were left at under $5,000, among other issues.
However
this seemed to infuriate the Secretary and a few others who barged in
on the voting stage in the Senate and disrupted the chamber, who will be
fined. Order was restored. However the Secretary went on to post
several other posts in other threads about the budget and what he
thought of the senators who didn't vote for it, once such quote "So
don't expect me to raise any payments again for Senators who, as I see
it, didn't do their job correctly." as some conspiracy theorists view
this as well as others, they see this quote as the Secretary saying that
he will be holding the Senator's salaries hostage because they didn't
vote they way that he wanted and will probably lower Senator's salaries
again in February.
Though the budget has passed, so in the long
run while it didn't get the support other budgets in the past have it
stilled passed which means that the government can continue operating
and no shutdown will be had, but this could also mean that more thought
and planning will be going into the next budget and hopefully it will be
able to get more votes and be a better budget.

Naruto RP Going On!
Naruto.
With
a slue of other role plays going on several people have still found
time to start another one which looks very promising or at least for
now, a Naruto role play. The role play which as you might have figured
out takes place in the world of Naruto where people get to develop their
own characters who can the ability to have some totally awesome jutsu.
Currently in the RP there is a tournament in the Leaf Village that will
be testing the skills of shinobi and ninja all over the world, which was
done to see what our characters got versus others. So far the
tournament hasn't started so new members can join at anytime they want,
no knowledge of Naruto needed, but helpful.
That's not all there is
also a lot of out of context talk about Naruto like pairings, you know
Naruto x Hinata, Neji x Tenten, so on. However many other role plays
have started out just as fine like the New Modern World RP, and many
others but soon fall to inactivity and other nasty things. Will the
Naruto RP also fall to those things? Let's hope not but only time will
actually tell us. That's time for you, always holding the secrets we
want to know.

Update on The Messenger and NRI
I was wanting to use this picture :3
Hello
everyone and thank you once again for reading the wonderful paper that
we like to call The Messenger. Before we get into everything else about
the company I'd just like to tell you a few things. The first time The
Messenger appeared in NationStates was several years ago as The British
Messenger in The United Kingdom, it didn't stay for long though later I
believe I opened it up again in The Kingdom of Denmark as The Danish
Messenger. The Messenger might have also been in a couple other regions
but I forget. Now we've been in The Allied Republic and first published
on July 25, 2012. Now it's January 12, 2014 and this is our 27th issue.
We are one of the oldest and longest running papers here and are nearing
our 30th issue. It has been quite a journey and we'd like to thank you
for helping us out every step of the way.
Next we'd like to talk
about The Messenger Postal Service, the very first postal service of
it's kind in the region. It is a subdivision of The Messenger which as
the name implies sends out letters, messages, and telegrams. The company
has a very effective formula for determining payment. The base fee,
currently $100, then $3 times the number of messages or telegrams you
want to send out, then if you want us to write the letter an additional
fee is added.
The Goddess Casino has also opened up which deals
with bets, gambling and all that other cool stuff. It recently held bets
on the elections and will probably do so again next election. It is
also working to develop a lotto and other forms of gambling.
North
Republic Industries is doing quite well and has been seeing good
profits so far from it's various companies and will be publishing a
finial report very soon.

An Interview with Trook about his New Elections Act
Today
we sat down with Secretary of the Interior Trook where we we're able to
talk to him about Election Act VI which he hopes will help to improve
the region and cut down on the red tape that's involved with our
election process.
TM: 1. How will this new Elections Act be cutting red tape and how will it help the election process?
Trook:
The new act will help by cutting down bureaucracy such as the election
reports as long with cutting down in the wording of the law to make it
simpler to understand what quicker to find out what you need to know.
TM: 2. Why did you decide to write a new elections act?
Trook:
Well as part of my tasks as Secretary of the Interior I have been
tasked by President Free States to cut down on the admin side of the SOI
and to deal with some issues that people raised and he himself agreed
with that made people feel restricted in the elections particularly in
regards to political parties being limited to only have as many
candidates as there are seats to win in the senate elections.
TM: 3. Why do you think it is better than the current one?
Trook:
Well this version is less cumbersome than the lasts in terms of
limitations and formal reports which some Secretaries ignored, I am not
naming names but there was a key link between getting elected to senate
then not doing the report. I also admit to myself that it is a lot
simpler as I can almost fir it on one screen without having to slide
down whilst keeping necessary regulation.
TM: 4. Imperium also proposed an election act not too long ago, why do you think yours is better?
Trook:
Although I know Imperium will disagree but I feel his is too simple to
the point we lose standardisation which keeps the elections the name
every time so no one can start saying one election is harder than the
other due to how they were organised. Secondly you also lost a lot of
accountability in his due to the SOI not even being required to
encourage people to vote or to stand as candidates which I think would
lead elections having less participation along with the Senate loosing
he ability to impeach the SOI if they done a job so bad that they had to
be remove.
TM: Alright, thank you. Is there anything else you would like to add?
Trook: It has the formal and official support of the President + It looks like Imps may be voted down in the senate
There you have it folks straight from the Secretary himself.

The Irresponsible Captain Tylor
1.
The Irresponsible Captain Tylor -- Also sometimes called Musekinin
Kanchou Tylor. It aired in 1993. It starts out with Justy Ueki Tylor who
after seeing an ad decides to join the military, get a desk job, and
then retire with a fat pension. That was until he managed to save an
former admiral from people who were holding him hostage and to reward
Tylor he is promoted and becomes the Captain of the Soyokaze. It goes on
from there.
The Story is good, it's entertaining and enjoyable.
It's not really deep but it still has a nice story. It is a comedy,
parody, space, military, anime. It is really funny a lot of the time. It
is nice to watch and let's you break away from life and drama. At times
you may stray away from it but you'll come back. The Characters are
pretty good, Captain Tylor is really funny and a likable and enjoyable
character as well as others like Yuriko, Yamamoto, and Goza. I liked
them. Character development is there, the characters really change
through out the anime. You see how the crew grows together and how they
change. It's pretty good. The music is good, I really enjoyed the
opening and ending themes and as well as some of the other soundtracks,
they were pretty good and I wish I could find the ringtones. I watched
the English dub, it was good, I thought that the voices matched the
characters pretty well. The animation is old, it was from 1993, but I
also liked watching that older animation sometimes. It isn't the best
but it's fine.
The ending was nice, there is a OVA squeal but I
haven't seen it yet. The enjoyment is good, I liked it, it was nice. It
was also nice to watch older anime, I do like watching older anime
sometimes.
Nodame Cantabile
2.
Nodame Cantabile -- One of my favorite anime, it deals with music and
the life of Shinichi Chiaki and Megumi Noda or as everyone calls her
Nodame. The story starts off with Chiaki walking around campus of a
music college, and says that everything's bad or terrible or something,
but he then hears something that's not terrible. Chiaki is from a
respectable family and has traveled around Europe and has been in Japan
for a while. He can play the piano and the violin and is good at both,
however wishes to become a conductor and he is a perfectionist. Nodame
plays the piano an unkempt girl. The story goes on.
The story is
wonderful, I really enjoyed it and it was amazing. I really liked it, it
deals with music, slice of of life, drama, romance, comedy, and is
josei. I really liked it as it told a wonderful story and I really liked
how it deals with college. The pacing is also well done. The Characters
are wonderful, Chiaki and Nodame are wonderful and amazing I really
liked them as well as many of the other characters like Milch. Not only
that but I also like the relationships between the characters. The
Character development was also pretty well done and it's nice. You can
see how they develop and move. The music, really key to the anime as it
deals with classical music. The music is wonderful, the opening and
ending are very wonderful and I like them and have used both of them as
ringtones. Not only that but the songs that they play though out the
series. This anime really helped me to really start liking classical
music again. Now for the voice acting I watched the first season dubbed
on Crackle and it was great I really liked it the voices were good, but I
don't think that they have dubbed any further than that so I had to
watch the second season subbed, which was good but I would have liked to
have had the dubbed. The animation is also well done, I liked it.
The
ending of the first season was good of course I went to the second
season later and still have to watch the third. The enjoyment is great, I
really liked it. This is one of my favorite anime, I just love it. I
have also read a lot fo the manga after it, I didn't jump ahead though
and still need to finish reading a lot of it.
